The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a class for people who would like to know more about the Roman Catholic faith and for those who desire to be received in full communion with the Catholic Church. We welcome catechumens, candidates, and inquirers.
Catechumens
Individuals who have never been baptized by any Christian church.
Candidates
Individuals who have been baptized in any Christian church (including the Roman Catholic church) but have not been confirmed in the Catholic Church.
Inquirers
Individuals who want to know more about the Roman Catholic Church
If you would like to learn more about the Catholic Faith or would like information on our RCIA classes, please contact us.
There is an adapted version of the RCIA process for children 7 years of age or older, who have not been baptized.
The preparation process is intended to help the child/youth develop a real lasting relationship with Christ and to help the whole family find support for a life of faith in the context of a parish community.
Parents, or the adults taking this role, are the first and most important teachers of their children. Therefore, the full participation of parents or guardians is essential in the journey of children to full initiation into the Catholic Church.
To register your child/youth for RCIA adapted for children please contact Harriett Cariaga at faithformation@stmichaelsnohomish.org
